my hidden valentine on brokeback moutain...

valentine's day picnic was a blast....
except...
as germaine pointed out...
it wasn't really a picnic, it was more like alfresco dinning,
watched the sunset as we sipped on italian wine...
and ate in the candle light under the stars...
i would love to be scarastic about the whole experience...
but i just can't...
it was really perfect...

went to a private screening og Hidden with germaine...
hidden is a french art flim that won the best director award in Cannes early this year...
hidden is so typical french...
the blantaness of it, as well as its oh-so-raw cinematography...
juliette binoche one of my favourite french actress was in it and i loved her...
hidden is about...

Georges, who hosts a TV literary review, receives packages containing videos of himself with his family -- shot secretly from the street --
and alarming drawings whose meaning is obscure.
He has no idea who may be sending them.
Gradually, the footage on the tapes becomes more personal, suggesting that the sender has known Georges for some time.
Georges feels a sense of menace hanging over him and his family but, as no direct threat has been made, the police refuse to help.

and as all typical french flick...
they make you think way too much...
and half of the time the audience is left hanging...
and how abrubtly it ends...
the french knows how toplay with not only their emotions...
but the audience's as well...
it amazing how i kept on cursing at how slow pace the movie was going...
and how it was going no where...
there was a part of me wanting to know more...
no... beggign to know more!!!
certain parts in the movie needed the audience to gasp...
and guess what... we all did...
really loudly acutally...
and when it ended...
the audience were left in awe and silence...
trying comprehend and understand's the director's motives...

germaine and i also caught brokeback mountain...
it was really over hyped and way too commercialised...
why wouldn't it be? considering it to be one of the front runners in the oscars...
watching the movie...
i keep trying to figure out the part where both of them turnded gay...
maybe the high altitude of the mountains made them go bonkers and really horny...
well...
the movie was really good...
if you step back and really appreciated the directors point of view...
you'll see the whole movie in a totally different light...
if it as directed by some young hippie director...
it be cosidered as a really good indie art flick....
however since ang lee decided to put his name on it...
brokeback mountain became way too main stream...
thats the problem with the movie...
it was way too mass produced...
cater to the audience...
it was good...
and good...
i meant...
and the oscar goes to...
