i know how i always go, "i'm so broke" figuratively...
usually ending or starting a very long painful breakdown of what i've bought or was going to buy...
then starting or ending these condescending sentences with "i'm so broke" to self depreciate my superficiality...
none of which i'm proud of...
but this time...
I AM BROKE.(or an exclamation mark depending on how you might what to look at)
monday, bright, shiny, beautiful, start of the week...
stepped out of house without a single cent (Literally) in my wallet/bag/shoe/strange corners in my bag...
am positively sure that can live one day without having to succumb to habitual commercialized consumerism behavior..
found out that the whole ideology of anti commercialized consumerism was based on someone living in a mud house on the hunting plains in africa...
or some ridiculously filthy rich billionaire who refuses to acknowledge his whole success to the idea of other people's habitual commercialized consumerism behavior (sic) me...
braved the day with plenty of IOUs and debts from friends
needed to grab breakfast from Macdonald's, its a big breakfast, let it go...
my first IOU from Jessica, repaid...
en location filming needed props...
Second IOU from aretha, repaid...
taxi from location back to school...
third IOU from aretha, repaid...
whole school day completed without having to spend single cent!
delighted and surprising hopeful...
decided that since i was able to show great restrain from spending any money out of my own pocket...
was going to treat myself to a movie!
the last show i caught was blades of glory, images of will Ferrell licking nipple and grabbing crotch is killing me inside... so just let it go!
met up with germaine who was my go-to financial back up girl...
germaine, the still jobless, and in heavy debt from last US vacation with 6 bucks in her pocket... like i said, my go-to girl...
reached yishun 10, to purchase tickets for ocean's 13 only to realize that her card got declined...
germaine called up HER go-to girl sherrie to transfer cash over...
since sherrie played a pivotal role in funding/transferring cash to us while we were in US, we figured whats 20 bucks to her...
between the time delay that sherrie finally got back to us telling us that she didn't have any cash since she was signing most of her expenditure on her spanking new credit card...
we bought 2 bubble tea at 1.80 each from germaine's ONLY 6 bucks...
went to the atm machine to try to squeeze out what little there was to be squeezed out...
then, VIOLA!!! germaine had $11.95 in her account, astounding compared to my $7.95 bankk balance...
managed to draw out 10 bucks!
went over to the counter confidently as a bunch of broke kids who just milked our atm cards dry...
with the left over from out bubble tea purchase and the spanking new 10 bucks...
we bought our $14 tickets...
then...
MOTHERRRRRRRR FUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC...
we were shot of 10 cents...
dug deep into the deepest corners of our bags to only find another 5 cents...
we came to realize it was a very cruel joke god was playing at...
looking at our almost empty bubble tree cups...
we figured, what was there more for us to loose?
we turned around and asked a couple whether they could spare us 5 cents...
before we knew it...
we were in the cinema, very proud of ourselves...
and discovering new depths of low one could ever sink to in this very commercialized consumeristic era...
since my atm card was of no use to me till it is properly fed...
might as well fully max it out..
spending my very last $7.95 on starbucks coffee to make this day feel oh so warm and fuzzy inside...
got on a bus home...
taped my ez link card...
$o.18 flashed ostentatiously across the machine...
it actually looked enlarged, to make bus patrons like me feel even smaller then their almost empty ez link card...
one of my most enjoyable rides back home, knowing that i kicked some serious commercialized consumerism arse...
$o.18...
would you look at that...
so when i say "i'm broke"
i'm milking/maxing it out to its full context...
