the look...

after our brief backpackers freak out session...
with the possibility of sleeping on the streets...
we decided to stay at philadelphia only a 2 hour ride away...
and the magic hostel that took us in on busy easter weekend was... CHAMONIX...

the chamonix mansion is a 200 year old house...
with its original building as well as internal furnishing...
it is easily one of the best hostels we've ever stayed at...
the rooms were impeccably clean as well as the amazing toilets...

guest could choose to either chill out at the entertainment room with the 50 inch telly...
or the 1800s dinning and drawing room...
the fully stocked kitchen...
did i mention the WiFi connectivity throughout the mansion!!!

the hostel was like a museum...
such character and history...
but with staffs that were freakishly friendly...
it made the dramatic mansion feel less plastique...











the only catch...
it was a 45 minutes bus ride away from the city...
and a 1 and a half mile walk away from the main road...
resembling a scene from any horror hitchhikker/backpackers movie...



the wireless internet is to die for...
we watch too many horrow flicks...



while we were in a pharmacy/ convenient shop in down town philly...
we walked into the shop while 2 other asian man were paying up...
we looked at each other and said... Singaporeans...
minutes later one of the guy came up to germ and asked whether we were singaporeans as well...


singapore...
not just a country...
but a look...
